Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and embark on a journey to explore the serene rural landscapes and the renowned Cu Chi Tunnels in Southern Vietnam. This immersive experience allows you to step into the shoes of a Viet Cong fighter as you navigate through the impressive 155-mile (250-km) long tunnel network and visit a typical shooting area.
Your adventure begins with a convenient hotel pickup from your guide, and as you leave the city behind, you'll notice the transformation of the scenery from the frenetic urban environment to a more tranquil rural setting. Along the way, you'll pass by picturesque rice paddy farms, charming roadside vendors, and lush greenery.
Upon reaching your destination, you'll start with a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, renowned for their extensive underground pathways that served as hideouts, sleeping quarters, meeting rooms, hospitals, and even housed the Hoang Cam Stove. These tunnels are incredibly narrow, designed to accommodate a single person crawling through, though some have been widened for the convenience of visitors. You'll also learn about the remarkable ability of the 10–13 feet (3–4 m) thick topsoil to withstand the weight of a 55-ton (50 mT) tank and the destructive power of bombs.
Afterward, you'll watch an informative film about the wartime experiences of those who lived in these tunnels. You'll have the opportunity to explore trap doors and underground quarters, as well as visit the sizable bomb craters left from the war. The tour will also take you to the Garment-factory Ammunition and Souvenir Shops, and the Museum of Self-made Weapons.
For an exhilarating experience, you'll have the chance to fire iconic weapons such as the M-15, AK-47, and carbine rifles at the National Defense Sports Shooting Range, offering a taste of what wartime combat might have felt like. Finally, you'll savor a delicious Vietnamese traditional soup, Pho, and a local tapioca recipe before enjoying a comfortable ride back to your Ho Chi Minh hotel. The morning session returns around 2:30 PM, while the afternoon session returns around 6:30 PM.
